Cook I - Patrick Space Force Base Dining
MISSION:
The mission of BAC is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform cook duties at Patrick Space Force Base: Riverside Dining in an efficient and effective manner. Reports to the site leadership team.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.
- Use a full range of quality cooking procedures from common and frequently used new or difficult recipes. Prepare a variety of meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and gravies.
- On a day-to-day basis prepare multiple menu items for one meal which involve planning and coordination steps to ensure that all items are ready for serving at the same time.
- Keep Shift Supervisor or Cook II informed of overall work operation (e.g., activities, progress, delays).
- Assure established safety and housekeeping procedures are followed by all workers on shift.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- No minimum experience required
- Must be able to pass a background screening for access to the work areas
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior work experience as a cook preferred
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks. This position does require the following: Repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling and prolonged standing. Will involve lifting/moving up to 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations, when practical, can be offered to accomplish the above requirements.
SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, heat, cold, rain, fumes).
- Will need to use any personal protective (safety) equipment as designated properly and consistently.
- Involves exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., cleaning solutions and bio-waste hazards).
- Required training provided by the company.
- Some tasks may be performed independently with little supervision.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
Availability: Full time days- Monday through Friday, 11:30am-7pm. Must work a Saturday or Sunday once a month on Reserve Weekend.
Salary: $18.05/HR
