Senior Data Architect

Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a remote Sr. Data Architect (NO C2C). In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data architecture that supports enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence needs.

Major duties

• Lead the design of scalable data solutions that support future growth and modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with reporting teams to ensure consistent definitions, calculations, and metrics across the organization. 
• Support the creation of reusable data assets for BI tools such as Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Work closely with business units and mainframe team to understand reporting needs, KPI definitions, and analytical goals.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting environments.
• Establish and enforce data governance standards, including naming conventions, metadata, and documentation.
• Support compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex data issues and provide architectural direction for resolution.

What are we looking for?

• 8+ years of experience in data modeling, including star schema, snowflake schema, and semantic modeling.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with the Snowflake platform.
• 8+ years of experience translating business requirements into technical data structures.
• 8+ years of experience using Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.
• 6+ years of experience with KPI design, business metrics, and analytical methodologies.
• 8+ years of experience interpreting data models, data dictionaries, and technical documentation.
• 6+ years of experience working in fast-paced, changing environments while meeting deliverables and deadlines, exercising sound judgment, and developing plans to address complex issues.
• 2+ years of experience with interpersonal relationships, including working under pressure, negotiating among multiple parties, resolving conflicts, and maintaining effective working relationships across all levels of personnel.
• 4+ years of preferred experience with ETL tools such as Informatica.
• 3+ years of preferred experience with mainframe systems, including IMS, COBOL files, JCL, and batch processes.

Exciting Opportunity Details

• Rate: $125.00/hour

• W2 Contract

• Worksite Location: Remote

• 1 month contract with likelihood of extension through 8/312027
